Greg Redding
Greg Redding is Vice President and Division Counsel. He is responsible for management of the legal staff of Vornado/Charles E. Smith. He also manages the company’s leasing staff specializing in meeting the office space needs of the federal government. He coordinates the work in these areas with the property management, development, marketing, accounting and lease administration functions of the company. He represents the company during negotiations with various agencies of the federal government and in discussions with elected government officials.
Mr. Redding began his career with Vornado/Charles E. Smith in 1990. During his tenure, he has negotiated leases for millions of square feet of federal and private sector office and retail space. He coordinated the company’s efforts during the 2005 Department of Defense Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) process and its subsequent implementation. Also a licensed real estate salesperson, in both 2008 and 2009 Mr. Redding was named by the Greater Washington Commercial Association of Realtors as the Top Developer/Landlord Agent for the entire Washington, DC, area. Prior to joining Vornado/Charles E. Smith, Mr. Redding was in private legal practice in Baltimore, Maryland. From 1976 to 1983, Mr. Redding served as an economist developing international trade policies while working for the International Trade Administration of the U. S. Department of Commerce.
Mr. Redding is as a 1983 graduate of Georgetown University Law School. He holds a M.S. from University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.S. from the University of Colorado-Boulder. He is licensed to practice law in Virginia and Maryland.
