All of our Engineers are well experienced with an average of twelve years of experience, and holding a minimum of a DC Third Class Operating Engineers License.

At Vornado/Charles E. Smith, we are using sophisticated technology to manage all of the processes needed to run today's workplace. Our Tenant Service Center operates and maintains one of the largest and most sophisticated remote monitoring and emergency response centers in the United States. Our licensed engineers continually track fluctuations in power usage and monitor heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) operations before they impact tenant comfort, business operations, energy efficiency or productivity. This 24/7 operation also becomes a complete Emergency Command Center in emergency situations.
Through the Tenant Service Center, Vornado/Charles E. Smith is dedicated to the Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR program which optimizes buildings' energy performance and lessens environmental impact. By managing peak demand, monitoring and controlling energy consumption, maintaining our systems for optimal performance and partnering with our tenants to adapt energy conservation practices we have reduced energy consumption across the portfolio. Through these efforts, twenty seven buildings have achieved the Energy Star designation, with more on the way.
