Each building is operated in a manner which ensures that we minimize our impact on the environment, while supporting a healthier, greener workplace. Vornado/Charles E. Smith's key sustainability initiatives include the following.

• Recycling - By working together with our tenants, we recognize that we can do the greatest amount of good--diverting recyclable material from landfills, preserving natural resources and energy, and reducing cost. Each building participates in a comprehensive recycling program that includes paper, cardboard, plastics, glass and metal.
• Indoor Air Quality - All Vornado/Charles E. Smith buildings undergo a rigorous indoor air quality inspection each year.
• LEED Interior Construction - Many Vornado/Charles E. Smith tenants are interested in creating a greener workspace from the start. By working closely with our tenants to meet LEED pre-requisite criteria, many tenants are constructing their office space to meet LEED specifications.
• LEED for Existing Buildings - Vornado/Charles E. Smith expects to achieve LEED-EBOM certification in a number of our buildings.
